Why Apply to NUS?

Eligibility
- Nationality: Applicants of any nationality can apply with their International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma.
- IB Career-related Programmes (CP): Applicants who have completed the IB CP may also apply.
- Transfer Students: Applicants currently or previously enrolled in a university as an undergraduate must apply as a transfer applicant.
Admission Evaluation
- Holistic Consideration: Based on academic merit, non-academic achievements, additional interviews/tests (if required), and open competition among all eligible applicants.
- Programme Prerequisites: Applicants must meet the prerequisites for the programmes they are applying for.
IB Transcript Requirement
- All applicants must authorize the IB to release their transcripts to the National University of Singapore (NUS).
- This can be done by informing their school’s IB coordinator.
Mother Tongue Language (MTL) Requirement
- Applicable to: Singapore citizens, Singapore permanent residents, and students from other IB World Schools within and outside Singapore.
- Fulfillment Methods:– IB Diploma Programme: Pass in MTL A: Literature, MTL A: Language and Literature, or Language B MTL at Standard or Higher Level.
- – Singapore-Cambridge GCE O-Level: Minimum of D7 grade for Higher MTL.
- – Singapore-Cambridge GCE A-Level: Minimum of S grade for H1 MTL, H1 General Studies in Chinese, or H2 MTL Language & Literature.
Important Dates- For example, 2024 Fall (Because the important dates for 2025 Fall haven’t been released yet on the official website)
- 21 February 2024: Deadline to submit application materials and test scores for Dentistry and Medicine applicants.
- 21 June 2024: Deadline to provide NUS with your IB Personal Code via the NUS Applicant Portal.
- 7 July 2024: NUS should receive your IB Diploma Programme transcript from the IB.
- Third week of July 2024: Most applicants presenting May 2024 IB Diploma Programme results will receive their application outcomes.
Additional Requirements for Medicine and Dentistry Applicants
- Submit predicted IB Diploma results (endorsed by applicant’s high school) and one of the following:
- – SAT/ACT with Writing and SAT Subject Tests/AP Exams. – UCAT (UK or ANZ).
- – BMAT (only accepted until 2024 applications).
